GRC holds a select number of Gordon Research Seminars each year. Scientists interested in attending one of the upcoming Gordon Research Seminars are encouraged to apply to the related GRC as well.

If a Gordon Research Seminar is not currently offered in your field of study, we encourage you to submit an application to a GRC that pertains to your current area of research.

Below are several items to consider when submitting an application to a GRC or GRS:

1. Be aware of deadlines
   • All Gordon Research Conferences and Gordon Research Seminars have an application deadline. The standard deadline is 3 weeks prior to the conference but some Conferences may implement an earlier deadline. Check the online program of the Conference you are interested in attending for the specific deadline.
   • If you are interested in giving a talk during a GRS, the deadline to submit an abstract for consideration by the Chair is 4 months prior to the GRS.
   • Keep in mind that some Conferences may become oversubscribed before the posted application deadline - apply early with a full application!
2. Submit your application online
   • Online Application Form
   • Keep in mind that all Gordon Research Seminars have a separate application from the related GRC. All GRS applicants are encouraged to submit an application to the related GRC.
3. What should I include in my application?
   • Accurate email address
     • All GRC correspondence is sent via email. If your application is accepted you will be notified via email and the GRC staff will also email you with important details regarding the Conference as the meeting approaches.
   • Detailed abstract
     • All GRS applicants are expected to submit an abstract. Submitting a complete and detailed abstract will also put you in a favorable position to be accepted to a GRC. The GRS Chairs will use submitted abstracts to select participants for oral presentations. Remember, the deadline to submit an abstract for a talk is 4 months prior to the GRS. In some cases, the GRC Chair may also choose a limited number of graduate students or post docs for an oral presentation.
     • If you do not have a finalized abstract but wish to submit an application at this time, we encourage you to provide a tentative poster title at minimum to indicate to the Conference Chair that you are interested in presenting your research.
     • You will have the option to add or update an abstract after submitting your application.
     • Note that abstracts submitted via the GRC web site must be in plain text format.
   • Activities
     • The Activities section may be used to tell the Conference Chair about your research and how you would benefit from attending the meeting.
     • If you wish to be considered for an oral presentation please indicate this in the Activities section of the application.
     • You may also include information about your collaborations with other scientists, published work, honors or awards in this section.
4. How will I know if my application has been accepted?
   • The Conference Chair is responsible for all acceptances. The Chair begins reviewing applications at least 3 months prior to the meeting. If your application is accepted, GRC will notify you via email.
   • The GRS Chair will contact you directly if you are selected to give an oral presentation at the GRS.
