About the Site
Davidson College is located 19 miles north of Charlotte, North Carolina in the town of Davidson. Davidson is a town in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, lying right along the southern edge of the Iredell and Mecklenburg County line.
Arrival and Check-In
It is expected that attendees will arrive/check-in on Sunday between 1:00 pm & 6:00 pm. Anyone arriving after the GRC office closes at 8:00 pm on Sunday must make alternative housing arrangements.
The Meeting Room and Poster Area
Science Sessions are held in the air-conditioned Tyler-Talman Hall in the Sloan Music Building.
Poster Sessions and Socials are held in the air-conditioned Chambers Gallery located in the Chamber Building.
On-Site Housing / Facilities
GRC participants are housed in the Tomlinson and Duke Residence Halls. Tomlinson is air-conditioned and contains both suite-style and "pod" accommodations. Each suite includes two or four bedrooms with twin sized beds, a shared living area and one bathroom. Each "pod" includes 8 single bedrooms with twin sized beds, one large communal living area with couches and table, and two bathrooms. Duke is also air-conditioned and contains suites (as described above) and standard dormitory style rooms with shared bathrooms down the hall. Linens, towels, soap are available in both residence halls. There are also vending machines, laundry facilities and phones available. Phones require calling cards to place long distance or international calls.
Dining Area / Meals
All Meals will be served in the air-conditioned Vail Commons dining room. Vegetarian entrees are available at all meals and kosher meals are available only if the request is made in advance of the meeting.
Internet, Phone and Computer Access
All facilities used by GRC have access to wireless Internet connections.
Note: During the summer of 2010, certain rooms in the Duke Residence Hall may not have access to a wireless connection, due to renovations. For those conferees affected by this, the site will provide Ethernet cables to allow connection to the network.
Handicapped Accessibility
The site is fully handicapped accessible.
On-Site Recreation
Davidson has wonderful cross-country trials, swimming facilities, tennis courts, a fitness center and even a three-hole golf course. They also have a 100-acre Lake Campus facility about five miles from campus where attendees can enjoy swimming, boating, hiking and other outdoor activities.
Other Information
Animals are not permitted on site.
All GRC facilities are smoke free.

The poster session schedule is developed by the Conference Organizers (Chair and/or Vice Chair)
and a printed version of the schedule is distributed to all participants during conference check-in.
