About the Site
The Ventura Beach Marriott is located in Ventura, California just 70 miles north of Los Angeles and 30 miles south of Santa Barbara. The Ventura Beach Marriott is located only two miles from downtown Ventura, California and adjacent to the San Buenaventura State Park which offers a hiking/bike path, miles of spacious beaches, and access to the historic Ventura Beach Pier. With un-crowded beaches, harbor cruises, whale watching, culture, intriguing history, festive shops and many dining and entertainment options all nearby, guests will have endless fun discovering this quaint town. Ideal year-round weather allows visitors to explore the sites, connect with nature or simply relax in the heated outdoor pool located in a lush, tropical setting.
Arrival and Check-In
It is expected that attendees will arrive/check-in for the Gordon Research Conferences on Sunday between 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm and for the Gordon Research Seminars on Saturday between 2:00 pm & 3:00 pm. The first science session for the Gordon Research Seminars begins on Saturday at 3:00 pm so please give yourself enough time to check in and get to the session on time.
The Meeting Room and Poster Area
Science sessions are held in Salon 2 on the mezzanine floor of the hotel.
Poster sessions and socials are held in Salon 3 on the mezzanine level of the hotel.
On-Site Housing / Facilities
Experience the true California spirit of Ventura Beach and the gracious hospitality and inviting accommodations of the Ventura Beach Marriott. The hotel has air-conditioned guest rooms equipped with phones, in room coffee & tea and TVs. Laundry facilities are available on site. The Marriott does not permit smoking in any of the rooms. The hotel has implemented a charge for parking to increase security. The discounted rate for GRC attendees is $5 per night. The hotel features a heated pool, Jacuzzi and a full exercise room.
Dining Area / Meals
All meals will be served in the air-conditioned Atrium Mezzanine of the hotel. Vegetarian selections are provided at all meals. Kosher meals (with two week advance notice) are available at the site.
Internet, Phone and Computer Access
Wireless Internet is available in the lobby and restaurant as a complimentary service. High-speed Internet access is available in guest rooms at a reduced rate for GRC attendees of $5.00 per day.
The Marriott’s Business Center is available 24 hours a day and includes computers with complimentary Internet access. A valid room key is required to enter the Business Center.
Handicapped Accessibility
The site is fully handicapped accessible.
Other Information
All GRC facilities are smoke free.

and a printed version of the schedule is distributed to all participants during conference check-in.
