In order to help attendees make preparations for traveling to our conferences, we have done our best to provide as much
information as possible about each of our conference sites. For more information about a particular site, please select a location from
the list below. Details include information about the meeting rooms, accommodations, recreation, A/V equipment, posters, maps,
driving directions, travel options, buses, off-site housing, photos and more.
About the Site
Colby-Sawyer is located in New London, New Hampshire in the heart of the Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee region, just 100 miles north of Boston. The Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee region is known for the natural beauty of its lakes and mountains.
Arrival and Check-In
It is expected that attendees will arrive/check-in on Sunday between 2:00 pm & 6:00 p.m. Anyone arriving after the GRC office closes at 9:00 pm on Sunday must make alternative housing arrangements.
The Meeting Room and Poster Area
Two conferences typically run concurrently at Colby-Sawyer College.
SITE 1: Science Sessions are held in the air-conditioned Curtis L. Ivey Science Center auditorium. Poster Sessions and Socials are held in the Ware Campus Center.
SITE 2: Science Sessions are held in the air-conditioned Gordon Hall located in the Sawyer Center. Poster Sessions and Socials are held in the Sawyer Center Lobby just outside the meeting room.
On-Site Housing / Facilities
GRC participants are housed in dorm rooms with twin beds and shared bathrooms down the hall. The rooms are not air-conditioned but fans are available for rent in the GRC office. Linens, towels, soap and a drinking cup are provided in each room.
Dining Area / Meals
All Meals will be served in Ware Campus Center. Vegetarian entrees are available at all meals and kosher meals are available only if the request is made in advance of the meeting.
Internet, Phone and Computer Access
Wireless Internet access is located throughout the campus and there are Ethernet Jacks in all the dorm rooms. Please bring your own Ethernet cable. There are computers available in the library for the use of the attendees.
Handicapped Accessibility
The site is fully handicapped accessible.
On-Site Recreation
Attendees can use the Hogan Sports Center which includes an Indoor Pool, Indoor Track, Fitness Center, and Racquet Courts. There is also opportunity for volleyball, soccer and baseball on campus.
Other Information
Animals are not permitted on site.
All GRC facilities are smoke free.
The site offers a recreational camp for children (ages 6-12) on a daily basis. Parents are asked to go to the front desk at the Hogan Sports Center for registration. The cost is $30.00 per day. For additional questions, please contact Lisa Lacombe at ext. 603-526-3775.

The poster session schedule is developed by the Conference Organizers (Chair and/or Vice Chair)
and a printed version of the schedule is distributed to all participants during conference check-in.
