Conference Description

The Atomic & Molecular Interactions Gordon Conferences series plays a vital role in presenting pioneering research to a diverse audience. It is justifiably recognized for its broad scope touching on areas ranging from fundamental gas phase, and gas-condensed matter, collision dynamics, to laser-molecule interactions, photophysics, and unimolecular decay. The AMI Gordon Research Conference has traditionally involved both scientists engaged in fundamental research in gas and condensed phases and those who apply those concepts to systems of chemical and physical interest. Topics encompass many of the most productive and exciting areas of chemical physics, including both reactive and nonreactive processes, intermolecular and intramolecular energy transfer, and photodissociation and unimolecular processes. Gas phase studies, van der Waals and cluster studies, gas/surface studies, and nonadiabatic - multiple potential energy surface - phenomena only some other areas considered. For example, in the highly successful 2006 meeting, 6 broadly defined and partially overlapping areas of intermolecular interactions and chemical dynamics were discussed: Clusters, Nonadiabatic processes, Cold Molecules, Reaction Dynamics, Photoelectron probes of dynamics, and New spectroscopies.
